Connect Gateway

Prerequisites

  • You will need to have a registered account in IoT Open.
  • Have a gateway with our software package on it

Create Installation

A installation is the main collection point for data. Each installation could represent a house, an apartment, or something alike. Installations handle devices and functions and can be bound to one or more user accounts.

To create a new installation, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Installation using the top menu.
  2. Click Add new installation.
    1. Set the name for the new installation.
    2. Choose which organisation it should belong to.
    3. (Optional) Add any notes for the installation.
  3. Click Add.

Generate credentials for gateway

  1. Choose your installation in the list.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click Create credentials
  4. The credentials for the gateway is shown.
  5. Copy these parameters to the gateway

Set parameters on gateway

Using RaspberryPi image

The parameters are entered in the configuration file /etc/iot-open/iotopen.json. Edit this file and replace the default values with the values from above. Then start the registration process by running iotiopen-verify.
